About Ruta Nahual
We are an Association of young people from San Cristóbal that devotes itself to promote an environmental culture, to foment a way of healthy life and echo touristic services on a solidary and autonomous way, in view of a sustainable development, and of reinforcing the optics of a responsible and alternative tourism to the conventional one and of mass. We organize circuits in bicycle, respectful of the nature, of the local population, of their culture and traditions in order to announce the travellers the Mexico from its people and of its local authentic reality.
We want to contribute in an endurable way to :
- The valuation and the conservation of the territory and of the environment.
- The valuation and the conservation of the local and traditional culture.
- Reinforce the cultural and social bows between the travellers and the locals.
- To the development and improvement of the local economy and of the quality of life.
- To the promotion of the use of different transport as an alternative to those of engine
Our activities:
- Development of alternative tours
- Organization of social, cultural and sports events
- Accomplishment of public workshops (bicycle repair workshop, crafts workshop)
- Sensitization for the tourists, tour operators, public institutions and to the local population

Green Routes
Huitepec ecological reserve
Sacred site for the indigenous settlers.
Discover the biggest second mountain of the Valley of San Cristobal walking in the forest of fog where you will be able to observe different kinds of fauna like birds, rodents, amphibians and reptiles.
Description: Ride in bicycle to Huitepec mount and a walk inside the reserve.
Time: 4 hours aprox.

Moxviquil ecological reserve
Mythical figure of the tzotzil people, know and estimate the flora and native fauna and the landscapes walking along the forest of encinos and pines.

Aviturismo Route
Bird watching
Sometimes in my dreams I feel that I fly. Contemplating the birds, these magic beings who furrow the skies, I connect with them across sounds and flutters. Observe and know the different kinds of wild birds.

CAMPING ROUTE
Under the mantle of the stars the spirit of the mountain will be your guide to be able to connect with and to have a closest relation with the essence of the life as our ancestors were doing it in their trips in search of the NAHUAL. We propose you to discover a mythical mountain of the valley. Inside Moxviquil ecological reserve we condition a space to practise camping.
Description: Ride in bicycle for Moxviquil and a walk towards the zone of camp.

ADVENTURE ROUTE
Arcotete– Florecillas
Tour in the mountain of the surroundings of San Cristóbal where you'll find sites of great natural richness and you will open your lungs and the pupils when you discover from the height the formation of an arch of stone eroded by a river.

JOVEL ROUTE
Historical tour across the most former neighbourhoods of the city and visit of the museum of history of San Cristóbal. Discover the cacao history while having a cup of chocolate in a fun site.
